While many of our classes are at low to no cost, funding and charitable donation is very crucial to help the community in these areas.  Our students come from homeless shelters and many are below poverty level, unemployed or disadvantaged.  However, our students recognized the need to better themselves and reach beyond all barriers to change their life course.

Educate Beyond All Barriers is pleased to offer the following classes:

 TASC/HSE/GED Preparation Course
The GED preparation course that our organization utilizes is called the Test Assessing Secondary Completion, or TASC. TASC is a national high school equivalency assessment that assesses five subject areas including Reading, Writing, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies. It measures examinees’ levels of achievement relative to that of graduating high school seniors, and readiness for college and the workforce, as outlined by the Common Core State Standards. This course is taught by a teacher who is degreed and experienced. The TASC is administered by the state. The course length is 6 to 9 months, depending on an individual’s progress. The course is taught on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm and we are considering an evening class if there is a need.   To ensure the student is ready to take the test for their diploma, we evaluate the students tests before sending the students to the testing site for final exam that can lead to their receiving their diploma.  This way we can evaluate if the student is ready to go for their testing ahead of time.

Life Skills Workshops
Life Skills Workshops are designed for Youths & Adults (ages 16-24) and Veterans.

Many of the youths in the age group of 16-24 are now experiencing family issues, addiction problems, society concerns (not fitting in or emotionally detached from society), financial concerns (if there is a budget, how to manage on a shoestring budget) and to add to the list, homelessness and hopelessness.

Veterans too have to deal with many problems.  According to the Veterans Administration, there are 476,000 veterans living in Indiana and 10% (47,600) of veterans needs could not be met by existing programs.  Our live skills workshops help to bridge that gap.
A big change is Military to Civilian and all the changes it presents.  Our Life Skills Workshops are designed to help Vets meet these challenges.

Finally, through our partners, we could refer Vets to various agencies to assist the Vets to the services they need.  Yes, together we "Inspire Lives, Change Futures."
