Educate Beyond All Barriers, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization which offers innovative educational and technology training programs, in an effort to foster opportunities for achievement and ultimate self-sufficiency. The organization’s projects provide many opportunities for socioeconomically insecure individuals to access vital business and technology education services, HSE/GED preparation, life skills and preparation for employment workshops that can lead to employment.  Developed with the dedication to provide support for those whose economic disadvantage prevents their equal access to career training, Educate Beyond All Barriers, Inc., provides many disadvantaged individuals and their families with a thorough foundation for future success.

Established in 2011, the organization was formed by a group of stakeholders who were able to see the positive correlation between unrestricted access to business and technology education, coupled with tertiary professional mentoring support, on attainment of meaningful employment and subsequent professional success. Headquartered in the Indianapolis Downtown area where our students can access our services using public transportation if needed. The goal of the organization is to ensure that all individuals have the access to the resources necessary to ensure future self-sustainability regardless of their current socioeconomic classification. While many individuals of disadvantaged backgrounds may have the drive and inspiration to pursue higher education, most lack the funding and other resources to make their dreams a reality. We help bridge that gap.

In the Indianapolis metropolitan area, specifically in low income inner city neighborhoods, much of the population is quite disadvantaged. Due largely in part to a lack in vocational skills, many young people are struggling with unemployment and underemployment. This has led an already poverty stricken areas into further distress. For example, currently the median per capita income in Indianapolis is a mere $24,430.  As a result, an estimated 18.9 percent of the population is living below the poverty level. This figure is quite discouraging compared to the 14.3 percent national average. Certain populations, such as single parents, those exiting foster care, and military veterans, have experienced even more severe ramifications.  To add to this,  The unemployment rate in Indianapolis is also higher than the national average. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, Indianapolis’ unemployment rate in November 2012 was a disheartening 8.6 percent.

Educate Beyond All Barriers’ projects, implemented by a well-trained staff, will provide many opportunities for the cultivation of talents and ensure professional success through community-based services.  Supporting the development of educational opportunities and future sustainability, our organization will counteract the current failure and assist in the provision of opportunities for self-sufficiency.
